Electrical Banana……..Is Bound to be the Very Next Phase
Hurdy Gurdy Man
Even as a kid hearing Donovan’s song “Mellow Yellow” I instinctively knew that something weird was going on………..electric bananas? whatever next? Still it was the 60’s and we were enjoying “the White Heat of Technology”, “the Space Race”, “Free Love” and there would be “Jerusalem” just round the corner or so we were led to believe........more

April Fools
Shiver Me Timbers!
April and Silverstone rarely make a good mix............climate wise that was the case over the weekend.............but the main race was a cracking event..............it would appear that we are in for another close, competitive season in the FIA GT Championship.

Risorgimento
For a brief few laps at Monza, the story of Le Mans 2008 was clearly spelled out. Like the précis of a book the outline of the plot was revealed, and Audi will take plenty of heart from the performance of their R10 TDI in the hands of Mike Rockenfeller against the Peugeot of Pedro Lamy.....more

McNish and Capello: Goodbye Baby and Amen!
Audi Sport is off to a good start this season despite the disappointment at not capturing another overall win at Sebring. Luhr and Werner have picked up the pace after it was announced that Allan McNish and Dindo Capello would be contesting the Le Mans Series and in effect, Sebring was the pairing’s farewell to racing in the U.S       ... more

For the past 80 years or so the Autodromo Nazionale Monza has been the stage for real motor racing......the buildings and the banking ooze history and drama.....the high speeds and claustrophobia of the parkland circuit are not for the faint of heart, so it was no surprise that the 2008 LMS race would be a show to remember.
And so it proved, from the flying circuses of Dindo, JCW and Stephane, to the wheel to wheel battle (literally!) of Peugeot and Audi there was never a dull moment......more

Bill Oursler looks at Old Friends and the Wall of Division
What seems clear even at the early stage of the 2008 sports car season is that in any head-to-head confrontation, the Peugeot diesel is going to be faster than its Audi opposition.

Marino Franchitti: Sebring, Spyders and Sunglasses
The initial excursion of this season’s ALMS opener at Sebring had it’s share of surprises. The Lion of Peugeot sending a four alarmer to the Audi squad that the game will be different at la Sarthe this year, the self destruction of the Maranello mounts and of course, the triumph of the Porsche LMP2’s claiming the top spots on the podium, overall!......more.....

Tony Dowe:  The Modern Alchemist
Most of our readers know who Tony Dowe is. A resume or C.V. as the Brits call it, that is way too impressive for most to acknowledge but certainly respect.  My favorite quote about TD comes from a certain Mr. Norbert Singer, perhaps you have heard of him, in his book 24:16, “Like I said, Tony Dowe is a clever man” .....more.
